Hello Guys. so finally the all new 2017 Maruti Suzuki Baleno RS has finally launched in Indian market . One more hot hatch added in collection of Indian automotive industry. so original Baleno was already a hit in the market when it was launched. As per Maruti Suzuki they had already sold 1.38 lakh units of Baleno premium hatchback. So we know that Baleno RS will also manage to do the same as the premium Baleno. As we know that the RS version is nothing but a sportier version of the Baleno with a new powerful engine, cosmetic change, and some changes with the cars dynamics and suspension.
So let's talk about whats has changed in RS version of the Baleno.
the first thing that you will notice when you will see the car for the first time is the change in exterior.
the Balneo RS gets new front mesh grille with chrome on it and also gets new front and rear bumpers which looks very sporty, also gets new side skirts. It also gets 16' inch alloys but with darker shade on it which adds more sporty feeling to it. and it is also available in new colour schemes.So that's all with the exterior.
Talking about interior of the car there is no change in interior. It gets the same interior as the Premium Baleno, all black interior.
We get a all new 1.0 litre turbocharged petrol engine also known as Booster jet engine. so 1.0 litre engine doesn't sound that good but it produces a lot more power than the original 1.2 litre unit on the premium Baleno. yes you read it right.
It produces around 101 bhp and 150 nm of torque from that 1.0 lite Booster jet engine as compared to the 1.2 litre engine which produces around 83 bhp and 115 nm of torque.
so you can guess how much fast will the new Balneo RS will be. but as the car gets more power it will need bigger and better brakes and yes maruti suzuki has done work in that department also .As the new Baleno RS gets all the four disc brakes. At the front it gets 14 inch disc and at the rear it gets 13 inch disc brakes and ABS and EBD as standard.
but because of these upgrades the RS version weights 60kg heavier than the premium Baleno so Maruti Suzuki has also worked on the suspensions of the car. So let's pray that the car will really be very sporty as Maruti suzuki has done so many new upgradation to make it sportier.
Also it will compete against the Abarth Punto, Volkswagen Polo GT TSI and Ford Figo.
